New Work

Developing work may become part of a series later, and often several types of work are developed simultaneously before forming a group.

The way that Moorland Productions works is both instinctive and self-reflective/ directive.  The process can begin with an idea deriving from research/reading or come out of previous work as a continuation or development. Because work matures slowly in a process of thinking, discussing, making, reflecting, making again and so on, a body of work can develop over many years. In general, certain themes and approaches remain fairly constant - a concern for clarity, clear drawing, clear colour, interesting themes which require reflection, formal beauty or organisation, contemporaneity, together with a knowledge and respect for the past, humour (sometimes), seriousness (sometimes) and a general openness to newness and change. We firmly believe in the power and function of art in forming and changing consciousness. Art helps us understand and deal with complexity, which transfers over to practical and political life..
